Guest Blogging Contest Results
29 COMMENTSIt is the time to announce the results of the guest blogging contest. The guest blogging competition at Blog Godown has been a great hit. A total of 22 articles were published in a span of 45 days. Each of these 22 articles had something different to say about blogging issues. Some of these articles even helped me to become a better blogger and also pushed me to change my blogging technique. Though the contest has only 5 winners, but in my opinion each and every guest blogger is a winner in my eyes, because they delivered good quality articles.
How are the winners selected?
Winners were selected by a simple points system. Each article was awarded points on the basis of the no.of retweets, no. of quality comments and also the quality of content.
10 retweets = 1 point
1 quality comment = 1 point
The quality of content was marked out of 10. I have given points in the range of 6 to 9 (No one got less than 6 because i haven’t accepted an article having quality lower than 6).
The one who gets the maximum points, wins! Isn’t that simple ![]()
I had used microsoft excel for calculation of points and also to determine the winner.
The winners:
1st prize:

I can see the prizes are really worth. But I would recommend to add prizes which can be used by bloggers who don’t use WordPress.
Like eBooks, Webinar tickets etc.

Congrats to all the winners, including me.
I like the fact that each of us learns through this contest because we are all reading and interacting with all the guest post entries.
As I’ve said the great thing with blogging is that we treat each others as peers rather than competitors.
