Yes, you are right! We need to have a huge traffic before we can really monetize our blog. Traffic can be considered to be equal to the money that we can earn from our blog. Determination and patience are key factors to be succeed in blogging.

Creating sites just to put ads on, in my opinion is wrong. It's not just a nuisance for the reader but in the long-term it doesn't make the blogger much money either. I can definitely see it from both sides! You don't want your whole focus to be on profits from the start because then you won't be spending time of people. The 10 steps are quite arguable since most bloggers do have their own strategies but I think you nailed it with the fact that you need to first have, a goal. I think it’s okay if you monetize your blog in its early days, but don’t over do it.

Even if you earn a penny from adsense, it’s still money.

Plastering the adsense block in your blog page could also helpful to your user where they can find more information from the links that are seen in the adsense ad blocks.

Monetize the blog when it just starts is not the right way. As you said, we don’t even make a cent if we don’t have consistent stream of traffic, that’s right! If you focus in building your blog but not focus in making money, you will see the result in the end of the day.
