The Key for creating a Successful Blog

You may have heard people say that Content is the King. Content may be the King, but without Promotion, Content is nothing. It is like a match box. For example : If Content is the match, Promotion is the actual box. You need BOTH the match and the Box to light the match.

Quality Content + Effective Promotion = Traffic

Information is the Key. Serve your Reader. What does your Reader want ? Quality Information and if they get it, they may subscribe to your blog. You may have the Quality information but without promotion what is the use. Promotion enables us to inform the public about your content. Submit your article to forums and websites. Be sure to change your title slightly.

Improve Your Blog

When People look at your blog, what do they think of ? To Improve your Blog [dramatically] , you need to get in the role of a visitor (You need to be the reader). You need to subscribe to your blog, add your blog to reading list and read your own article as a reader. After you read your own article, you need to think about it (as a reader). Think what your response (response to the article) would have been if you had been a reader of the blog. This Method would also help to evaluate your blog’s speed, design etc.

Make Smart Choices

A Blogger needs to make smart choices. Good Decision making skills are vital to a blogger. For example, To Choose a Reliable Hosting Service you need good Decision making skills. Evaluating all the information given by the hosting website and deciding the most reliable(and profitable) hosting service is not an easy task. You may think it’s easy but it’s not.

Comment Positively – Interaction between Blogger and the Reader

Reply to your comments positively. Comments help us to interact with each other. Comments also help us to form relationship with our blog readers. Don’t forget to thank you commenter. Appreciation is everything (in commenting). If the Reader feels that he/she is important, they might subscribe to your blog. Positive comments = Positive Blog Environment. Keeping a positive environment in your blog is always good (helps to boost the number of comments) Good Language skills = More Comments. Convincing your Reader with your Language is another thing. If you are able to convince your reader to do something, then you can congratulate yourself for having a good language. Interact with Other Bloggers since they may help you at a critical situation. You may never know what will happen.

Keep Your Word

If you have promised anything to your subscribers, keep your promise. Don’t think that they(readers) might forget about your promise. If a person approaches you to blog about something (product, tutorial etc.) and if you promise them, keep your promise. Keep your Readers happy.

Try Hard

The First days of Blogging might be hard ; it must be or there is something wrong with your blog. You may not get it right for the first time. Try hard, Try again. Remember : Blogging isn’t easy. If you are a newbie blogger, you don’t need to worry about posting 3 or 4 times a week. Start by posting 1 or 2 articles a week. By 1 or 2 articles, I mean Quality articles. Eventually you will get the hang of it. Another thing to remember : If you are a newbie blogger – Don’t just go and buy a domain. Start with a sub domain. It doesn’t really matter which platform you choose – WordPress or Blogger, but as a beginner, I recommend that you go for Blogger.

Choosing a Blogging Style

If you are a starter you may need to choose (carefully) your style of blogging. There are mainly two types : Professional Style and Goof-Off Style. Professional Style include your Blog Design, Content Quality etc. Goof-Off style focuses on copying content. You don’t need to be that type of blogger.

Blogging Consistency

Keep your schedule. If you post 3 or 4 articles a week, then continue that consistency, or at least try to. Your Readers are used to your consistency and they look forward for new content. You need to wait for the write time and then click the publish button. By right time I mean FOLLOW YOUR SCHEDULE.

Writing Style – Long Vs. Short Articles

There has long been a debate on this. I recommend Medium sized article because they are short, sweet, up to the point. Your article must always have a direction ( A POINT OF VIEW). Medium sized articles are best suited for this. Why? Because
People Don’t Really Like to Waste their Time by Reading a 1000 word long article, they want everything fast (and short)
Short articles are not suited for professional blogging since they are too short (they don’t really have a point) Just Like a English Essay. Teachers don’t like too short or too long essays. They like medium sized essays that has a effective thesis.
