How to Gain Votes to Reach the Top at Blog Engage

Blog Engage is a new and emerging social networking website. It is used by a number of rookie and pro bloggers. The advantage it has over other social networking websites is that it helps you gain a backlink, and along with that it is a really good tool for blog promotion. To add cherry to the cake it has revenue sharing so that you monetize the time you invest at Blog Engage.

1. Submitting Killer Content

The rule of any social media site is to submit something unique, interesting or resourceful. The way to top is only possible if you submit extremely good and awesome articles. Make sure the articles are such that they target users at BlogEngage so that you are able to maximize votes.

2. Submit Articles Regularly

It is really important that you get noticed and you can do that easily by submitting good and resourceful articles at a regular pace. If you are blogger, then the first task after the completion of your post should be to submit it to BlogEngage. This way you can become an active member of the social network and become a pro in a small period of time.

3. Complete your profile

The reason you may not be getting votes, may be due to incomplete profile. People prefer to vote users that are really active and serious voters at Blogengage. The profiles without profile photo and information may seem to be a spam profile, and therefore may not get you any votes.  Complete profile increases credibility and also ensures that you get more votes on each of the submissions.

4. Comment like a Freak

Become a regular commenter at Blog Engage. It is the best way of getting noticed, as all the recent comments get featured in the sidebar and hence helps in building a reputation in this social media network.

5. Add Friends

Making more friends helps in gaining more votes for your submission. All the posts submitted by friends are highlighted. This makes it more prominent and increase the chances of being noticed and voted.

Add friends and start voting them, chances are that most of them will add you back and will help you getting on the top.

6. Join Social Groups

Create and join social groups. Though these groups aren’t used by every user, but making a social group will always help in obtaining more votes. These groups have an added advantage that people blogging on the same or similar niche or similar interests can share their submissions with ease. There are a number of really good groups in Blog Engage. If you don’t find one that suits your requirements, then you can always create your own.

7. Vote for others

Voting on other user’s submission is equally important as voting for your own submissions. Voting only on your articles will not be taken in a good sense and would be considered as spamming. To become a pro user at Blog Engage, you need to vote on submissions which you think are worthy of your vote.

8. Add a Blogengage Button

It is really simple to add a blogengage button and it takes a minute or two to add the code. The code and plugin is available at the Blog Engage Website. Adding a Vote Button increases your chances of getting more votes, as people easily vote from your site without searching for the story page at Blog Engage website.

9. Write About Blog Engage

Most of the users on Blog Engage are relatively new and need guidance about Blog Engage. Writing a post about Blog Engage is a sure shot way to get a lot of votes. By these posts, many of your readers are encouraged to join Blog Engage and as they are followers of your blog, they will readily vote for all your blog posts.

Though all these tips help, there is always an element of luck. But you can’t do much about that, Right? 🙂

  • I think your post is accurate. Still, I find it rather defeats the purpose of blogging to have a need to blog about BlogEngage in order to “target” the voters on BE.

When I vote, I vote for articles that are well-written and have good content — whether or not they about a topic that is of particular interest to me or whether it is another blog in my niche.

So even if it means more votes, I’m not going to use my dream home blog to create posts about BE or targeted at other bloggers. Just doesn’t leave my blog with any topical integrity!

    • I agree with you that you don’t have to write about Blog Engage for the sake of votes, even if you are blogging on a different niche.

But if you blog is about blogging, you can write about blog engage which has helped me in getting a lot of votes.

And yes well written articles score better and my top voted artcile was not about blog engage but was a collection of 75 social bookmarking icon sets

    • This is a good point Alison and I hope your subscribed to this topic and read my reply.

I agree with you that it’s not necessary to blog about blogengage on your blog. The ironic part is it really works.

I’m not sure why it works but I think it provides an even ground of equal interest to all bloggers and in return develops some pretty cool blog discussions.

The end results is usually more votes and more front page exposure from your existing readers and blogengage members.

P.S. I thought you already wrote and article about us?

    • Yes you need time to do all of these, but if you post something really useful, you can skip some of these easily

    Hi Gautam,

Thanks so much for posting about the site. You should have also mentioned how you were the top engaged of 2009 and won 50 USD. I think that would also be a great way to get members to join us.

I love your suggestions within this article. I think updating your profile is very important and all members should do it. But to make a valid point I do see a few successful bloggers with no profile image still seeing the front page.

If your contents really good you could get published but I would say adding the profile pic is still the average persons best option.

I don’t know what it is but our members really like to see articles about blogengage. I have noticed this is a great way to break into the social community. Everyone who writes about blogengage and submits it has a huge following immediately after it’s rather interesting to watch.

Thanks for the feedback and write up! I’m off to vote because apparently I didn’t yet which is very odd!

    Thanks,

    Brian

    • I had won the prize after I wrote this article, which was in draft for some time. I have received a lot of feedback in this article of mine. I had 2 articles and each got more than 15 votes from the community. Plus i got at least 10 comments and a lot of traffic.

I think all these points have come with my experience of using blogengage.

  • Great ! Nice Tips to gain more votes at Blog engage

  • One of the best BE articles to date, thanks friend.

  • Great advice for new Blog Enage users. I use all of your tips and have see a difference in the amount of votes I get.

The hardest part for me, is commenting on submitted submissions. I find if I submit there, then I have to find something else to say on the actual blog posting. Plus most do not really comment on the BE site.
